We have developed a clear process to control our capacity to provide a realistic market offer. Today, Farmcrowdy has a pre-incubation time of 2-3 months to identify and launch a project.
Here is our Farmer’s Integration Process:
Crop and Land Selection: We identify crops to be cultivated based on season, demand and location. We also do our due diligence on potential yield per area, land availability and potential partners in terms of input providers, and mechanization.
Farmers: To keep things organized, we do not work with individual farmers. Instead, once we identify a state or location, we reach out to the farmers association or community leaders to help us identify experienced and committed farmers.
Inputs: We then provide input in form of improved seed varieties, training on modern farming techniques and mechanized tools to the farmers. We also assign technical field specialists to each farm/location.
Off-takers: We source ready buyers for the farmers which makes their work easier. We want them to concentrate on farming and not have to worry about selling the products after harvest. This will help prevent them from being exploited or underpriced such that they do not sell their produce at unprofitable margins.
